Man charged after street robbery

An 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged with robbery after two men were attacked in Leicester.

The men were treated at the Leicester Royal Infirmary following an incident in the city centre.

Police were called to a suspected robbery in Belgrave Gate in the early hours of Tuesday and then called to Doncaster Road off Melton Road.

The 55 and 38-year-olds suffered head injuries, but their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

The road was sealed off for some time.
