Parents and children at a Leicestershire primary school are campaigning to have the speed limit on the road outside dropped.
The limit outside Bringhurst Primary School in Market Harborough is currently 60mph but teachers, pupils and parents want it reduced to 30mph.
Parent Janet Horton, who was recently involved in a collision on the road, said the speed limit was inappropriate.
Leicestershire County Council said it was investigating a speed reduction.
Six-year campaign
"A few weeks ago, I was driving past the school, luckily I didn't have any children in the car," said Mrs Horton.
"At the top of the hill, there's a blind bend... another car pushed me off the road into a verge and I suffered whiplash and lots of cuts and bruises.
"People are just driving at inappropriate speeds because of where the school is and the lie of the road."
Head teacher Rose Williams said she had been campaigning for six years for the speed limit on Great Easton Road to be changed.
"People see that it's a 60mph road and they are driving within their legal rights but they are not aware of the sharp corner.
"Cars are shunted off the road, they go across the pavement and invariably end up in the hedge beyond our playground."
Leicestershire County Council said they were now consulting with the police over a drop in the speed limit.
