Body of man found in city river

A man's body has been pulled from a river in Leicester.

It was discovered in the River Soar near the Leicester Rowing Club opposite the Walkers Stadium in Leicester on Saturday morning.

Police have said they are keeping an open mind as to the circumstances of the man's death and how his body came to be in the river.

A post-mortem examination has been scheduled to be carried out on Monday morning, Leicestershire Police said.
