Passenger denies air rage charge

A Lancashire man accused of air rage during a flight from Manchester to the Caribbean has pleaded not guilty.

Grant Smith, 35, was on the flight to the Dominican Republic when it was diverted to Bermuda after its crew reported problems with some passengers.

Mr Smith, of Slaidburn Avenue, Burnley, was arrested on 31 December by police when the aircraft landed in Bermuda.

Mr Smith denied the charge of endangering the safety of an aircraft, Manchester Crown Court heard.

He will go on trial on 28 September.

Two other men, a 26-year-old from County Durham and a 25-year-old from Lancashire, also arrested in Bermuda, were released without charge.
