Driver seriously injured in crash

A man has been taken to hospital with serious head injuries after a crash between two cars in Lancashire.

An Audi A4 collided with a silver Lexus on a bend near the Duke of Wellington pub on Grane Road in Haslingden just before 0800 GMT.

The drivers of both cars were taken to hospital for treatment. Police said one has minor injuries and the other has more serious head injuries.

The road has been closed between Holcombe Road and Calf Hey Road.

Lancashire Police said accident investigators were at the scene and the road was not expected to reopen until midday.
