Teenager targeted by sex attacker

A 14-year-old girl was grabbed from behind and sexually assaulted as she walked home in Lancashire.

The teenager was attacked as she walked between Crabtree Avenue and Wales Road in the Waterfoot area of Rossendale on Saturday night.

Police said the girl has been left traumatised after the incident and have appealed for witnesses.

Her attacker is described as white, aged between 20 and 30, 5ft 8in tall, with light brown frizzy or curly hair.

Police said he spoke with a local accent and had a deep voice.

He was wearing a black hooded top, dark pants and had a silver chain around his neck.
