Investigation as five escape fire

An investigation into whether a fire was started deliberately at a house in Lancaster has been started.

The blaze broke out at a house on Keswick Road shortly after midnight.

Five people inside managed to escape before Lancashire fire crews arrived and four of them were taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary hospital.

The flames were quickly extinguished but there was smoke damage to several rooms at the property. No-one was seriously injured.

Those taken to hospital were suffering from smoke inhalation.
