Youth charged over girl stabbing

A 14-year-old youth has appeared in court accused of stabbing a teenage girl in the neck in Lancashire.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before Preston Youth Court on Monday charged with wounding with intent.

The victim, a 17-year-old girl who suffered a collapsed lung, is in a stable condition in hospital.

The stabbing happened in Tanterton Hall Road in Ingol, Preston, on Saturday afternoon.

The boy was remanded in custody.
