Man charged with fatal stabbing

A 33-year-old man has appeared in court accused of murdering a man at a house in Lancashire.

Steven Nerney, of no fixed abode, was charged with murder on Wednesday morning and has since appeared before Wyre Magistrates' Court.

The victim was found dead at a flat in Hatfield Road in Fleetwood on Tuesday. A post-mortem examination revealed the man died from stab wounds.

Mr Nerney has been remanded in custody to appear at Preston Crown Court.

The victim's identity has yet to be revealed, but police said he was in his 50s.

Earlier two men, both aged 24, were released without charge.
