Promenade crash girl 'critical'

A 12-year-old girl is in a critical condition after being hit by a coach on Blackpool Promenade.

Police believe Megan Henderson was crossing the central reservation when she stepped in front of a coach and was dragged under it on Saturday night.

She suffered serious head injuries in the accident and was taken to hospital.

The accident led to the partial closure of the road for five hours, which was busy with people visiting the resort to see the illuminations.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision, which happened at about 1840 BST.
