Woman held after husband stabbed

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after her husband was stabbed in Blackpool.

Police were called to a house in Ascot Road in Thornton on Thursday morning, and found an 80-year-old man had been stabbed in his chest and stomach.

He was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A Lancashire Police spokesman said a 56-year-old woman had been arrested and is undergoing medical assessment.
