Mail bag stolen from post worker

A mail bag was stolen from a female postal worker as she made her deliveries in Lancashire.

The woman was on her rounds in Pine Street, Haslingden, on Thursday when a man snatched the bag and ran off.

The man was Asian and in his mid 20s, about 5ft 8in and stocky with a round face and a local accent. He was wearing a navy polo shirt and dark blue jeans.

Lancashire Police said the woman was left shaken but uninjured after the incident, which happened at 1100 BST.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Det Sgt Ben Hodkinson said: "I am appealing for anyone who may have been in the area, seen anything suspicious or who may have any other information at all to come forward."
