Motorcyclist killed in road crash

A motorcyclist has died in a crash in Lancashire.

The accident happened on the A683 Hornby to Melling road near Lancaster, at about 1100 BST on Saturday.

Emergency services were called but the man, who is thought to be in his 50s and from Preston, had suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police, said: "Police do not believe any other vehicles were involved but inquiries are ongoing and witnesses are sought."
