TVR buyer shrugs off probe fears
The Russian owner of sports car firm TVR has shrugged off fears of a potential government probe after buying the company back from administrators.
Nikolai Smolenski said the administration was a "lose lose" situation and made no financial gain.
Blackpool MP Joan Humble and the Transport and General Workers' Union want an investigation into the sale, after 260 workers lost their jobs.
Mr Smolenski also ruled out returning production to Blackpool.
He added: "The damage done to the TVR brand in the last two months has been tremendous.
"At the moment it is very difficult to see how TVR is going to go back to Blackpool. Britain does not support industry."
The Blackpool redundancies angered the TGWU, which campaigned against the end of production last year and presented a petition to 10 Downing Street.
