Albert Snape left his home in Bamber Bridge on Tuesday morning, telling his partner he was going to get a haircut.
But the 78-year-old has not been seen since and police say his disappearance is "totally out of character".
Mr Snape is described as white, medium build, and about 6ft tall with thinning short grey hair. He is also described as being unsteady on his feet.
Sighting appeal
The last sighting of him was at a bus stop opposite the Clayton Brook Arms on Great Greens Lane.
Insp Sue Seddon, of Lancashire Constabulary, said: "We are growing increasingly concerned about Albert.
"This behaviour is totally out of character for him and given his age and the fact that he needs daily medication that he has not got with him, we really need to find him."
