Three in court over street murder

Shezan Umarji, courtesy of Lancashire Police Three youths have appeared in court charged with the murder of a man who was stabbed to death in a street fight.

Shezan Umarji, 20, died in the fight involving about 50 youths in his home city of Preston, Lancashire.

Liam McKerney, 19, of Samuel Street; Lee Moore, 19, of Fishwick Parade; both Preston; and a 17-year-old, are charged with murder and violent disorder.

Preston magistrates remanded them in custody to appear at Preston Crown Court on 8 August.

The incident happened on the city's Callon Estate, where Mr Umarji lived, at about 0045 BST on Saturday.
