Missing Maxine found by officers

Maxine Bindi Police say a schoolgirl who they believe had gone missing with a 37-year-old man has been found.

Maxine Bindi, 13, from Fleetwood, handed herself in to a police station in North Wales on Friday.

It is thought she had disappeared with her mother's ex-boyfriend Alan Keegan. Lancashire Police said he had not yet been found.

Officers and Maxine's mother Bridget appealed for her to come home on BBC One's Crimewatch programme.

Man missing

Det Insp Colin Fish said: "We are very pleased that Maxine has been traced but clearly there are still a lot of unanswered questions.

"Specially trained officers will be talking to Maxine and her family to establish exactly what has happened, where she has been and who she has been with."

Maxine had not been spotted since getting off a tram at Central Pier, Blackpool, on 2 October.

Police are still anxious to trace Mr Keegan, who is believed to be in the North Wales area.
