Appeal boosts missing girl search

Maxine Bindi Detectives probing the disappearance of a teenage schoolgirl in Lancashire are sifting through new information following a BBC Crimewatch appeal.

Maxine Bindi, 13, of Fleetwood, is thought to be with her mother's 37-year-old ex-boyfriend Alan Keegan.

Maxine has not been spotted since getting off a tram at Central Pier, Blackpool, on 2 October.

Her mother, Bridget, made an appeal for her safe return on Wednesday's edition of the programme.

She said: "I just want her to come home. She's not in any trouble, I don't care about the money as long as she's safe and well."

Maxine had taken £145 from her mother's purse, but did not pack any clothes or take any other items with her.

Mr Keegan, who is originally from Hackney, east London, is described as a "drifter".

Police have worked with the Gardai in Galway, Republic of Ireland, as part of their search but have drawn a blank.

It is thought Maxine may have had contact with two school friends via an internet chatroom on 15 and 16 October.

She has not made any contact with her family.
