Crime in Kent has fallen by 8%, according to the Home Office's annual report.
The figures show an overall reduction of 10,222 crimes between April 2008 and March 2009. At the same time, detections increased by 4.5%.
Almost 39,135 offenders responsible for crimes were brought to justice compared to 38,273 the previous year.
Kent Police said they were working to deal with crime issues that matter to local communities.
Assistant Chief Constable Andy Adams said: "We are extremely pleased that we are continuing to see an overall reduction in crime, but we will not be complacent.
"We want to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour even further over the next year."
