A ceremony has taken place to mark the structural completion of the multi-million pound Innovation Centre at the University of Kent.
The £7.3m centre funded by the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) is due to open in November 2009.
The Centre will connect businesses with the university's expertise and it is hoped it will aid innovation and entrepreneurship in the region.
Local companies are said to be keen to be a part of the new development.
It is the first building on the proposed 6.5-hectare Kent Technology Park.
