People and organisations in Kent are being offered the chance to get a share of a £50,000 grant to help fund schemes that cut household waste.
Kent Waste Partnership (KWP) said money could be made available for electrical goods recycling projects, energy saving initiatives and waste reduction ideas.
It said groups and individuals had until 20 January to apply for the Community Waste Action Fund grants.
Nearly 800,000 tonnes of waste is created annually by households in Kent.
Kent County councillor Avril Hunter said: "Often local people have local solutions to issues such as cutting down on waste so I am very keen that local groups take advantage of this funding to help with their waste reduction or recycling projects.
"KWP has worked hard alongside residents to recycle more waste than ever before.
"Although we are performing better than many English councils on recycling, there are strong environmental, social and financial motivations for the KWP to do even better and this is where the Community Waste Action Fund comes in."
