Crewman injured by doors on ferry

A crewman has been airlifted to hospital after he was seriously hurt on board a ferry in the English Channel.

The man suffered severe head and neck injuries when he was caught in a set of watertight doors.

The accident happened aboard the Eurovoyager ferry as it approached the Kent port of Ramsgate from Ostend just before 1100 GMT.

Coastguards arranged for emergency crews to meet the vessel when it docked in Ramsgate.
