Police have been stopping and questioning all drivers using a road in Kent where a 70-year-old pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run incident.

The woman was using a pedestrian crossing on the A20 at Harrietsham when she was hit by a vehicle on Thursday.

Officers set up a road check between 0800 BST and 0930 BST on Friday at the scene, near a railway bridge, causing delays in the area.

Police are looking for witnesses who were in the area at the time.

They have said they are particularly keen to talk to a the driver of a Land Rover Discovery, and a woman dressed in pink who was pushing a child's buggy.
