Drug-smuggling teenager jailed

A teenager from Germany has been jailed for six and a half years for attempting to smuggle cocaine worth £500,000 into the UK.

Jasmin Bollinger, 19, pleaded guilty to carrying about 11kg (24lb) of the Class A drug in her car at a previous hearing at Canterbury Crown Court.

Bollinger, of Freiburg, was arrested at the Port of Ramsgate after arriving on a ferry from Ostend in Belgium.

The UK Border Agency found the drugs in the rear quarter panels of her vehicle.
