'Months' on ward for attacked boy

Sam Eastwell

A 17-year-old boy who was found in a street with serious head injuries is expected to remain in hospital for several months.

Sam Eastwell, from Ramsgate in Kent, was found in Albion Place on 7 August.

Kent Police said he has regained consciousness following two operations in a London hospital.

Two 16-year-old boys have appeared at Margate Youth Court charged with wounding with intent and robbery. They were remanded until 17 September.

Sam, an A-level student at Clarendon House Grammar School, remains in a critical but stable condition on a ventilator at King's Hospital in London, Kent Police said.

A spokesperson said: "It is expected he will remain in hospital for a number of months."
