Inquiries are under way after a serious sex attack on a girl and a man was assaulted on one road in Gravesend.
Officers have said the two incidents in the north Kent town were not related.
The serious sex assault on the teenage girl was reported to police at 2130 BST on Friday. Forensic examinations are being carried out.
A 28-year-old man was attacked in the same road at about 0500 BST. He was taken to the Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford with a head injury.
Cordons were put in place in both parts of New Road.
'Reports of fight'
The cordon around the area of the sex attack inquiry was still in place on Saturday afternoon.
A police spokeswoman said officers had been carrying out house-to-house inquiries near the junction of New Road and Darnley Road.
She also said: "Officers have been working with the girl to find out exactly what happened. This will probably carry on during the afternoon."
The cordon sealing off the site where the man was attacked has been lifted.
Ambulance crews and police were called to reports of a fight near the McDonald's restaurant earlier on Saturday.
The man who was taken to hospital was in a stable condition, and his head injury was not described as life-threatening.
