Radio DJ facing sex attack trial

Radio DJ and voiceover actor Barry Bethell has pleaded not guilty to a number of charges of sexual assault and downloading child pornography.

Mr Bethell, 65, of Kimberley Grove, Whitstable, Kent, appeared at Canterbury Crown Court and was remanded in custody to await trial.

The 65-year-old appeared in SlimFast TV adverts in the early 1990s.

A date for the trial, which is subject to reporting restrictions, was set for 11 November.
