Teenage couple scoop lottery win

Lottery draw machine An unemployed teenage couple from Kent have scooped £700,000 on the National Lottery.

Kelly Lucas and Ollie Kennedy, who are both 18, say they plan to spend some of their winnings on driving lessons.

The pair have a seven-month-old son, Danny, and now also want to buy a house in their home town of Folkestone.

They won the money on Saturday's Lotto draw and said when their numbers came up they were jumping for joy. The ones they picked included Danny's birthday.

'Trust fund'

Mr Kennedy said: "I'd come back from football on Sunday and went on Teletext and the numbers were there."

Miss Lucas said: "I didn't believe him. We kept looking at the ticket loads of times. We were just jumping around."

The couple have been together for two years although Mr Kennedy currently lives with his mother and Miss Lucas lives in a flat with Danny.

Both plan to work despite the win, with Miss Lucas planning to resume a hairdressing course she gave up while pregnant.

Mr Kennedy is waiting to hear if his application to be a supermarket shelf stacker is accepted and said: "I want to work. If I get a job I'll work."

As well as driving lessons, the pair also want to buy a new car each.

They also want to help their families and also set up a trust fund for their son.

Their winning numbers were 3, 7, 12, 21, 25, and 36 which netted them a total of £716,766.

They were one of five winners to share a jackpot over just over £3.5m.
