Girl, 11, dies in three-car crash

An 11-year-old girl died and three other people were injured in a three-vehicle crash in Kent.

The youngster was a passenger in a black Ford Fiesta which collided with two cars on the A258 in Swingate, near Dover, at 1415 BST on Saturday.

She was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by paramedics.

Two other children and a woman, who were also travelling in the Ford Fiesta, suffered multiple injuries.

Crash investigation

Firefighters used cutting equipment to free the female driver, who was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother Hospital (QEQM) in Margate for treatment along with the youngsters.

The occupants of the two other vehicles involved in the collision were uninjured.

Kent Police closed the road while their serious crash investigation unit examined the area.
