Motorway rescue crew escape blaze

A motorway recovery team escaped from a fire in their roadside caravan close to the M62 motorway.

Humberside Fire and Rescue were called to the caravan, at the junction of the A63 and A614, after a smoke alarm alerted the men inside to the fire.

The two-man contraflow recovery team got out safely, but the keys to their tow trucks were lost in the blaze in the early hours of Monday.

A fire service spokesman said the smoke alarm had saved the men's lives.
