Young woman dies in road accident

A young woman has been killed in a crash in North Lincolnshire.

The 18-year-old was hit by a Renault Megane car on Scotter Road in Scunthorpe, her home town.

Humberside Police said the woman, who has not been named, died at the scene. The driver of the car and his female passenger were unhurt.

Scotter Road was closed to traffic for four hours after the incident. Detectives have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
