Foreign Office officials along with specialist police officers, immigration experts and victim support charity workers will be at the event on Friday.
Event organiser Insp Anne-Marie McLoughlin said a multi-agency approach was needed to tackle the problems.
The conference at Barton-upon-Humber aims to draw up a regional action plan.
Ms McLoughlin said: "We live and work with people from a vast array of backgrounds, cultures and behaviours.
"It is our responsibility, with partner agencies, to be alert to the different issues which are prevalent in our diverse communities."
Ms McLoughlin said there had been a number of cases involving honour based violence across England and it was "important that as a region we are prepared and have the best responses in place to react appropriately should we be faced with such incidents".
