A woman who has won a claim for damages after being sexually abused by Ian Huntley is suing social services for failing to provide suitable care.
Hailey Giblin, 21, of North Lincolnshire, was molested by the Soham killer when she was 11.
She brought a civil case against Huntley, 33, who is serving life at HMP Wakefield for the murders of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman.
Mrs Giblin won the right to damages at Manchester High Court on Tuesday.
Admission 'priceless'
It was also revealed during the hearing that Mrs Giblin, of Barton-upon-Humber, is suing social services for failing to provide suitable aftercare.
Speaking outside court, she said: "I feel a massive sense of relief that Ian Huntley has admitted that in the summer of 1997 he took me, an innocent 11-year-old girl, from the sanctity of my street, to an orchard where I was subject to the most horrific sexual attack at his hands.
"Yet I still feel upset that Huntley was left at large, resulting in the deaths of two innocent children.
"I hope now that with Ian Huntley admitting his crimes that he committed against me, this will silence my critics.
"I now have a judgement by admission awarded to me against Ian Huntley and although it is of no monetary value, to me it's priceless."
Mrs Giblin said she hoped other victims of sexual abuse would be inspired "not to be ignored and simply be a statistic of rape or abuse".
Huntley, originally from Grimsby, had initially denied the attack but the court was formally informed on Tuesday that he had confessed.
District Judge Dick Fairclough postponed a ruling on the level of damages to be awarded to Mrs Giblin and ordered that a number of police statements should be released to her lawyers.
Mrs Giblin, who waived her right to anonymity, had reported the attack to Humberside Police in 1998 and 2005, but the Crown Prosecution Service ruled there was insufficient evidence for a prosecution.
She is thought to have spent about £60,000 in legal fees.
It is understood that double murderer Huntley, who was jailed for life in 2003, is insolvent.
North East Lincolnshire Borough Council confirmed it had received legal papers from Mrs Giblin's solicitors.
A council spokesman said: "The matter will be dealt with in accordance with our normal procedures.
"As you would expect, no further comment can be made at this time."
The case was adjourned for six months.
