A woman has died and another was seriously injured in a head-on collision in North Lincolnshire.

The accident happened on the A161 between Low Burnham and Haxey on Thursday afternoon.

The woman who died, a 35-year-old from Haxey, was driving a Peugeot 307 which collided with a BMW 118 driven by a 40-year-old woman from Belton.

The BMW driver suffered broken arms and legs and is in a serious but stable condition at hospital in Scunthorpe.

Two girls, aged 13 and 11, who were travelling with her escaped with minor injuries.
