Seating firm's Olympic contract

A Worcestershire firm is taking on more staff after winning a contract to provide 11,500 seats for visitors to the London Olympics in 2012.

Slick Seating Systems went through a two-year bidding process before being awarded the contract to provide seats at the new basketball stadium.

The Redditch firm was set up nine years ago with a staff of four. Another 50 people have now been recruited.

A spokesman described the contract as "a feather in the cap" for the firm.

He said: "We are pleased in the West Midlands that it (the contract) has come out of London and into Redditch."
