Arrest over park murder inquiry

Gheluvelt Park, Worcester

Police investigating the death of a 66-year-old man whose body was found in a Worcester park have made an arrest.

Gordon Whitehouse, from Whitbourne, had been the victim of a "violent physical attack," Det Ch Insp Gary Watson of West Mercia Police said.

His body was found in Gheluvelt Park by a passer-by at about 0510 BST on Wednesday.

Police said a 30-year-old man had been arrested and was in police custody awaiting questioning.
