Antiquarian books to be auctioned

A collection of Victorian books which have been lying in a basement for more than 40 years are to be auctioned.

The books belonged to JW Willis Bund, formally of Upper Wick, near Worcester, and were left in his will in 1928 to his trustees.

They have been stored in Worcester Library's basement on the trustees behalf.

The collection, which ranges from antiquarian to religious pieces, will be auctioned in Malvern on 8 January.

Libraries manager Kathy Kirk said the trustees had gone through the collection with an antiquarian expert and were expected to attract a lot of interest.

Auctioneers Philip Serrell are arranging the sale.
