Driver airlifted after M5 crash

A man has been airlifted to hospital after suffering a head injury in a motorway collision in Worcestershire.

The man, believed to be in his 30s, was driving a car which was in a collision involving two lorries and a van on the M5 on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident happened on the southbound carriageway between junction 4a and 5, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

The man was airlifted by the county's air ambulance to Birmingham's Selly Oak hospital. No-one else was injured.
