999 ambulance call centre shuts
A 999 call centre for the West Midlands Ambulance Service has closed.
All call handling and vehicle dispatches which used to be handled at Bransford, near Worcester, have been transferred to Brierley Hill.
The ambulance service took the decision to close the centre in November 2007 and said all staff had been transferred to other positions.
A call centre in Shrewsbury closed in August with staff moved to Brierley Hill in the West Midlands.
Ambulance service chief executive Anthony Marsh said he had not wanted to announce the Bransford closure date until employment had been found for each staff member.
The centre closed its doors at 0700 GMT.
