Two quizzed after baby found dead

A man and a woman have been arrested following the death of a baby.

The five-week-old, who has not been identified, was taken to Hereford County Hospital on Saturday morning, West Mercia Police said.

A force spokesman said a post-mortem examination was being carried out but formal identification of the baby had not yet been completed.

Detectives are questioning the arrested pair in connection with the infant's death, the spokesman added.

Officers have not yet revealed whether the baby had died before arriving at the hospital or its gender.
