A hospital trust has apologised for errors which led to a girl being born with a brain injury.
Holly Nixon, now five, of Kidderminster, Worcestershire, is unable to stand up or sit down without help and needs 24-hour care.
A financial settlement has yet to be arranged, but is expected to be enough for Holly's parents to pay for her extra care and needs.
Worcestershire Acute Hospital Trust said it regretted the errors made.
'Sincere apologies'
Holly's parents Carl and Emma Nixon said they were trying to remain positive.
"In the background is the thought it could have been a different life for Holly," Mrs Nixon said.
The problems started before the birth when Mrs Nixon realised Holly was not moving.
Two midwives failed to send her to hospital and when she did go, she was sent home after a scan.
When the danger to Holly's life became apparent there were then delays in performing a Caesarean.
A statement from the hospital trust said it was pleased a liability settlement had been agreed.
"The trust accepts and regrets that there were errors in the care that was given and we would like to express our sincere apologies to Holly and her family for these shortcomings," it said.
