Crash road to be shut for weeks

A road which had to be shut after a car crashed into shops in a Worcestershire town could be shut one-way for "several weeks", police say.

Blackwell Street, in the Horsefair area of Kidderminster, was closed following the crash on Saturday.

A 24-year-old man has been charged with drink driving and failing to stop at the scene of a crash.

Police said the road would be closed to traffic leaving the town centre until possibly the end of October.

Following the crash, the road had been closed in both directions, causing extensive traffic delays in the town.

Diversions have been set up via Radford Avenue, Birmingham Road and the ring road.
