Man dies 'while fishing in river'

A man who was believed to have been fishing has died after being pulled from a river in Shropshire.

Emergency services were called to Riverside Caravan Park, Kidderminster Road, Bridgnorth, at about 1720 BST.

Ambulance staff worked with fire and police to get the man from the river, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

The spokesman said crews immediately began resuscitation attempts on the elderly man. He was airlifted to hospital where he was confirmed dead.
