Thieves take Orbison tribute gear

Roy Orbison A tribute artist has had more than £2,500 worth of equipment stolen, including the dark glasses he used to impersonate music legend Roy Orbison.

The items were in a £500 trailer which was stolen from outside Gordon Roberts' home in Elmley Close, Kidderminster, Worcs, in the early hours of Sunday.

The trailer included a sound system and equipment worth £2,000, cowboy boots, hats, ties and replica guns.

Mr Roberts: "It's no good to them. They can only sell them."

Stands for speakers

He said a case inside the trailer contained "an awful lot of stuff" which is used for his various tribute performances.

A costume for dressing up as a cowboy and a gun belt which was made for him were among the items inside.

The music equipment included stands for speakers, microphones, guitars and keyboards.

The silver 8ft (2.44m) long trailer was hitched to a car when it was stolen.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Kidderminster police or Crimestoppers.
