Masked raiders target jewellers

Offord & Sons Jewellers

Two masked robbers armed with an axe and a hammer have raided a jewellers.

The robbery at Offord & Sons Jewellers on Church Street in Romsey, Hampshire, happened on Saturday morning.

The men, both wearing "horror-style" masks and black clothing, smashed the glass cabinets and grabbed a quantity of high value rings, police said.

They stuffed them into a bag and fled on foot. Police officers are searching the area and studying CCTV footage. Officers have appealed for witnesses.
