A passer-by captured the raid on camera

A second man has been arrested in connection with a robbery at a jewellery shop on the Isle of Wight.

Two masked men escaped with 15 watches from the Benzie yachting jewellery shop in High Street, Cowes, on 3 July.

A 22-year-old man, of Angmering, West Sussex, was arrested at Worthing Police Station on suspicion of robbery.

Oliver Mazirel, 21, of Ivydore Avenue, Worthing, West Sussex, was arrested and later charged on 9 July with robbery and possessing an imitation firearm.

He was remanded in custody after appearing at Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court the next day.

He is due to appear before Isle of Wight Crown Court on 12 October.

The 22-year-old arrested man is due to be transferred to custody on the Isle of Wight for further questioning by detectives from Hampshire Constabulary.

A woman, aged 23, also of Worthing, has been released on police bail until 16 September.
