Two arrested over robbery attempt

Two men have been arrested after masked men entered a Southampton mobile phone shop with a sawn-off double-barrelled shotgun.

The attempted armed robbery took place at the Mobile Exchange shop in Portswood on Wednesday morning.

Two men were later arrested on suspicion of attempted armed robbery and possession of a prohibited weapon.

The pair, a 42-year-old man and a 29-year-old man, remain at a police station being questioned by detectives.
