Two dead in separate road crashes

Gorley Road

Two people have died in separate road crashes within hours of each other.

A 44-year-old man was killed after he was hit by a car in Gorley Road, Ringwood, on Friday evening. He died at Southampton General Hospital.

Police said he was from the town. The 25-year-old female driver of the Seat Ibiza car was uninjured.

In a second incident, a 26-year-old motorcyclist died on the Isle of Wight at Shalfleet. His Suzuki bike collided with a Suzuki Wagon car on the A3054.

The biker, a 26-year-old man from Freshwater on the island, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The car driver was a 48-year-old man from Wellow, also on the island.

The main road was closed for several hours.

Police are appealing for witnesses to both crashes.
