Four led from fire in city flats

Four people have been led to safety by emergency crews after a fire began underneath a block of flats in Southampton.

A motorcycle caught fire in a garage under the flats in Exford Drive, Harefield, in the early hours of Saturday, the fire service said.

Thick smoke spread to five floors of the building.

No-one was hurt but four people had to be led to safety. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
