Man held after woman found dead

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead in a flat in Southampton.

Police were called to Taranto Road shortly before 0500 BST on Sunday. The woman, in her early 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 21-year-old local man was taken to Southampton General Hospital. He was later discharged and arrested on suspicion of murder.

Police are making house-to-house inquiries in the area.
